It seemed that my 5 day weekend was a couple weeks long. When your sports teams don't win, the time can almost seem forever.
First my Kanas State Wildcats didn't finish so well in the Old Spice Tournament in Florida. The snagged a fourth place finish. The football team did worse by loosing Saturday.
The Jayhawks started out on Wednesday night with an impressive win over Northern Arizona and they followed up with an overtime win over the Arizona Wildcats last night. The football team faired less on Saturday night with a thumping by the rival Missouri Tigers. The Jayhawks started playing football the second half but the Tigers started in the first half with fourteen points.
The Kansas City Cheifs lost L.J. and Priest but they were still picked to win. Put it in the books that the Cheifs found another way to loose. With many state champion football teams in the area, don't you think that the Cheifs have some resources to help them teach how to read offenses and tackle? They looked pitifull. The bright side is that their new running back looked good and didn't loose the game for them, unless you blame him for the Raiders breaking down the Cheifs offense on a 4th and 1 and tackling Cheifs running back for a loss.
On Friday, my wife headed out at 3:00 AM to the area sales. Toys-R-Us and Best Buy had some electronic trickets for sale at great prices. When my wife got to the stores, she was sitting in a good spot. When it got close to opening time, the lines got longer. It seemed that many people were holding spots for their friends who wanted to sleep in on Black Friday. My wife didn't get anything she wanted. We headed to a couple of other stores and they priced matched the deals that Toys-R-Us and Best Buy had for sale. So needless to say, we got most of what we wanted. I would suggest that if you don't find a sale item at one store, go to a competitor and see if they price match. In some cases they will and discount another 10-15% (Its their price match guarantee).
We also beat some of the crowds on Black Friday by shopping online. We got some really good deals on toys and on electronics.
