Now that Gas prices in Kansas City are at $1.33 and They will be Going Back UP!

This morning I drove by several gas stations in Kansas City on the way to the doctors. Most had gas prices below $1.50. I called a couple friends and they gave me several places that had gas below $1.40. I had a little wait at the doctors and so I killed some time watching the national news. What I heard blew me away.

The national news anchor reported that many states were starting to take steps into increasing taxes on gas. They also reported that the states that don't increase gas taxes immediately will probably follow with raising the gas taxes soon. The positive note was that gas taxes would not be raised all at once. The news anchor pointed out that there are some areas where gas is 25-45 cents different then other areas within 20 miles because of current gas taxes and consumers will plan trips to areas where gas is cheaper. Sounds like Kansas City doesn't it? Gas in Independence currently is $1.33 at a gas station while it is $1.72 at a Shell gas station in Gardner, Kansas.

The gas station currently with the cheapest gas in Kansas City is the Independence Volero at 211 S Noland Rd.

Yes, I plan trips to areas where gas is cheaper. I checkout my webpage (www.DowellTaggart.com) daily to see who has the cheapest gas.

What do you think about increasing the gas taxes?
