OLATHE, Kan. - Bird enthusiasts here in the metro will get a chance to view the majestic bald eagle up-close this winter.
Bald Eagles have been making an annual appearance at Lake Olathe in Olathe, Kan. for the past several winters. December and January offer the best opportunities to view the eagles.
The eagles typically use Lake Olathe as a hunting and resting location. Eagles have also been spotted at other Olathe park locations including Cedar Lake, Waterworks Lake, and Frisco Lakes.
Olathe parks are open daily all winter long from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. For more information about eagle viewing and lake locations, contact the Olathe parks services manager at (913) 971-6626.
