Tour de France Training - Stepping Up Training
Although I haven't posted my training lately on my blog, I have stepped up training. My training has meshed into my professional real estate career. Yesterday I practiced crashing to avoid broken bones. During my training I nearly got hit by a teenager on the way to school and a cow that got outside of the fence. Actually it could have been a bull attracted to my red lycra shirt. I didn't stay around to exchange information. During the getaway I pedaled so fast that I could have outran a car on I-35 in Olathe.
Today I listened to Def Leopard on my Blackberry as I rode down and around Hillsdale Lake. I seemed to be going at a brisk pace. Although I did not time myself, I know that on the uneven pavement (down hill) I was burning rubber off the tires. During today's training I got a phone call from one of my ex cycling teammates. He said he was getting a crack up on reading my blog posts. He found them on Google as he was searching information about this years Tour de France. We kind of made plans to do a race this summer that is if I don't make it to the Tour de France. So I guess if I don't make it to the tour I have something to fall back on.
The rest of the day I'm preparing for two real estate listing appointments and heading out to my oldest sons first track meet. He is running the 1/2 mile and mile.
Remember, if you see my on the road on my Trek, don't honk too loud. You might scare me and I'll run into a pothole and I'll miss my chance to be the oldest Tour de France cyclist.
* Please note: This blog posts is my journal of my exercise program into exercising to get rid of Diabetes. Diabetes is a serious disease. I have lost my eyesight temporarily, lost feeling in my feet and had seizures. The first book I read about Diabetes pointed out that I need to set goals during my exercising. My goal is to ride the Tour de France. Although, I know that being over 43 and haven't raced competitive for over 20 years I know that my goal will never be reached. I thought it would be fun dreaming as I exercise daily. My real profession, which I gave up cycling for is real estate. I represent home buyers and home sellers in Kansas City.
