Texas Tech Red Raiders play host to the Kansas State Wildcats tonight on ESPNU. The game tips off at 8:00 pm central time. THE OPENING TIP• The Red Raiders are coming off of a 76-52 loss to Iowa State.• [22/24] Kansas State is riding a two game winning streak after upending OSU, 66-58.• Today’s game is on the ESPNU. Mitch Holthus (Play-by-Play) and Reid Gettys (Analyst) are on the call.• The Red Raiders are 0-6 in Big 12 play for the first time since 1999-00.TEXAS TECH-KANSAS STATE SERIES• This is the 27th meeting between the Wildcats and the Red Raiders. This 2nd annual evening race, on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 7:30pm, will take you and a thousand or more of your sweaty friends through the streets of the Crossroads arts and music district.
Your reward for beating the heat will be a free concert for all participants at Crossroads KC at Grinders, featuring local bands Atlantic Fadeout, Sons of Great Dane and Expassionates. SPORTING KC TO HOST NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION IN U.S. OPEN CUP at the Blue Valley District Activities Complex in Overland Park, Kansas The next opponent for Sporting Kansas City in the U.S. Open Cup was determined last week. The match will be held May 25th at the Blue Valley District Activities Complex in Overland Park, Kansas. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the match cost $15 via Ticketmaster. The U.S. Open Cup has been held annually since 1914 and is named after Lamar Hunt, original owner of Sporting Kansas City from 1995-2006. Kansas City won the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, defeating the Chicago Fire 1-0 on a golden goal by striker Igor Simutenkov off a free kick in the 95th minute at Arrowhead Stadium on September 22nd, 2004. Located in the parking lot at Johnny’s Restaurant, the KU Fall Rally will start at 4 p.m. with The Cirque band taking the stage at 4:30. The University of Kansas head coaches will take the stage at approximately 6 p.m. Johnny’s is located on Ridgeview Rd., just south of K-10 Highway in Olathe, Kan.
The KU Fall Rally event is sponsored by the Kansas Alumni Association, Intrust Bank, West Star Development, Johnny’s, 610 sports and Salty Iguana, whose Olathe location is just south of Johnny’s.
In addition to the coaches participating at the rally, the KU Pep Band, mascots and cheerleaders will also be present as will be Hawk Zone inflatables.
