Y RCA is a horrible school.
i sent my son there for 4 years and when i took him out to send him to a public sckol i found out that the school is not accredited by the state. AS a consequence he had to take a pl;acement test in all key subjects he failed all of them. my son is a very smart boy he has always got straight a's so this upset me as he had to be a freshman instead of a sophmore

DANGER!
Do NOT go to this place!! A woman was raped here by an employee a couple of weeks ago. She has evidence but is afraid to go to the police.
I am not kidding and I am not a competitor. It just kills me that Joel got away with this!
If anyone else has been assaulted at this place, PLEASE come forward to press charges so he doesn't keep doing this to other vulnerable young women!!

Go chitty chat about your kitty cat
I was given a gift certificate to Willows, so I decided to check out all their cat products. I have two cats, one of whom has a regurgitation problem (which isn't fun to clean up!). The store owner was very forthcoming with information, and she gave me several free sample bags of cat food. I was very grateful for that, as it's very expensive to experiment with foods that might end up making the regurgitation problem worse! So, I ended up using the gift certificate to buy honeysuckle treats and toys, as well as a catnip blanket; but I will definitely go back to buy food once the kitties have picked a favourite sample. Considering the downtown location, I expected the prices to be much higher, but they're actually on par, if not cheaper, than other major pet retailers in the area. The owner is passionate about animals and loves to chat, so this is the place to go when you have time to browse and converse about your pets.

Passion for Pizza
A small but charming spot in Halifax's south-end, this place has a pizza for most taste buds. All their pizzas are personal size (9' inches) and on a thin crust base.
I had their chicken pizza which came with figs and provolone - very tasty. I also tried a slice of the peach and pork (an odd combo i know) which was suprisingly good. The warm potato & bacon side salad starter was excellent and very popular according to our server.
The cocktail drinks menu was also very interesting (try their Passion Fruit, Vodka, Basil and lime infused cocktail)...and all made with fresh ingredients.
I finished with their small caramel tart, topped off with a slight sprinkling of rock salt and cream - this was delicious. Service was excellent, friendly and knowledgable....a 5 stars for sure and didnt break the bank. I'll go again.

Thank you Pure Living Fitness!
I would like to share my experience at Pure Living Fitness with all of you. Three months ago I walked into this gym feeling a sense of desperation with my health and life. At 41 weighing 225 and feeling old and tired. I knew I had to make a change if I was to be around for my children. The staff at Pure Living made this a positive experience and applauded my courage for taking action. 40 lbs. less and 3 months later I see a different person in the mirror now and wonder how I got around everyday before. I am excited to see where I'll be by this summer.

Amazing Decor and Great Music
Rumfire is located in the Sheraton Waikiki. It is a great lounge to have a few drinks and enjoy the entertainment. Rumfire has an indoor and outdoor seating and depending on what your mood is you can either sit inside or out. I would recommend outside if you want to hear what your party is saying because the music is quite loud inside. Firepits adorn the inside and it offers a unique and beautiful sight. The food is also fantastic but remember that they only offer tapas. However, my husband and I ordered two tapas, mini chicken burritos and the braised beef nachos, and we were satisfied. The menu definately offers a mexican flare and most of the tapas are spicey. If you are looking for a lounge with a bit of energy this is the place to go.

Enjoy Pacific Fusion Cuisine right on Waikiki Beach
Dukes is located right on Waikiki beach and is located right beside the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. You can enjoy breakfast and lunch and dinner for a really great price. I have yet to eat dinner their but I have eaten lunch twice and have yet to be disappointed. I would recommend the fish tacos, a strip of mahi mahi will certainly make your mouth water. The prices are fantastic considering you are in Waikiki Beach where everything seems to be expensive. My husband and I had lunch and drinks for under $60.00. Highly recommended if you are in this area.

Do NOT Go Here!!!
They were supposed to do simple alterations and clean my wedding dress. When I came back to try on the dress, it fit me worse than before and the dress was snagged from her putting safety pins in it!?! After getting the dress back to take somewhere else, we found that she used dark blue thread to sew it, she cut away the extra material, and even cut a hole in the lining. It was a simple alteration and she ruined it! We had to purchase a new dress! Also the dress wasn't even pressed properly... the least she could have done was give me my money back! Save yourself the hassle and the money... go somewhere else!

Pasta Plus in Maryland
This restaurant has an impressive reputation and was recommended to us by friends at church, so we tried it for our Sunday lunch.
I decided on the bruchetta to start - which had large well seasoned chunks of tomato and my wife had the minestrone soup...all good so far.
I then ordered their vegetarian pizza and my wife ordered the calzone - also veggie.
The main dishes took way too long to come out and when they arrived they were cold - maybe they'd been left standing.
When we pointed this out to our server they didnt seem too interested in sympathizing with us.
Good food but the service wasn't the best :(

Outlet store with lots of merchandise
If you haven't been to this Salvation Army location, you might be in for a surprise. They sell everything from used clothing and accessories to books, CDs/DVDs, furniture (including new brand-name mattresses), household goods and appliances, and toys. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are cheap: I recently bought two shirts, two skirts, two books and several kitchen items for $26, all in excellent-to-new condition. Although the store is tidy, the aisles can be cramped at times, and the changerooms are small and a bit dirty, but otherwise this is a very well-run store.

Try the Brunswick Stew
So this place is apparently legendary in these parts - so we decided to give it a whirl.
I had the Brunswick stew - which was very tasty and I also had a nibble on my wife's ribs. Succulent and flavorful!
The mac 'n' cheese looked a little greasy - but apparently its the bomb.
We enjoyed BBQ1 and will go back when we are in Marietta....but its a bit of a drive from Stockbridge.

DO NOT USE TOM'S CONSTRUCTION! STAY AWAY!
I've had nothing but problems since using Tom's Construction for a roofing job at my home. I have been unable to get the permit closed from the city because work was not completed pursuant to the original contract, I had leaks within a year after the project was finished, and was charged bogus charges after the project was completed.
I have been unable to get them to make the repairs (in spite of the fact that my contract states a 5 year warranty). I had another roofing company look at it and they indicated the work of Tom's Construction was commercially unreasonable.
Fraudulent and dishonest business! Save yourself the time and go to a reputable business!

Fun, flirty and feminine
Hibiscus always has beautiful window displays, and eventually they lured me in. What a beautiful, trendy selection of women's clothing - items that I've never seen anywhere else in Halifax. They also have a nice section of bath items and giftware at the back - all very girly stuff. Some of the prices can be a bit high, and the changerooms could use a bit of updating (I'm not a behind-a-curtain kind of gal!), but otherwise this is a great addition to Spring Garden.

These guys are a joke.
They should have a negative rating on this site. We had 2 bathrooms gutted and redone by these 2 people and BOTH bathrooms leak, the drywall is terrible, the ceiling has lumps in them and, get this, Wayne Kelley signed his name to the ceiling in our main bathroom after painting it. The seams of everything, walls, crown molding, bathtub meeting walls, are all separating. He tried to blame this on us, saying maybe it's the product I'm using to clean with that causing the seals to leak. I use shampoo diluted in water (no chemicals) so you know that is not the problem. We are not over weight so he can't use that like he did when he told us about another job he did. "That the people were overwieght so the floor bowed from that". We have a 3 year warrenty with them, which Wayne Kelley told my husband he should just VOID, as if he had the choice once it was signed. He does not come back to honor his work when you have problems he doesn't want to deal with and even went as far as telling us he was in the hospital and could not come for 4-6 wks and would call when he was out. That was months ago and no phone call yet. I called the hospital and actually the other main one in the area as well and guess what (?)...no Wayne Kelley. I called everyday for two weeks. He lied to us. His work is such poor quality that using the work "quality" makes me feel like a hypocrite. Please save yourself the frustration of being ripped off and USE SOMEONE ELSE.....ANYONE. This job cost us thousands and thousands of dollars and now we have to hire another contractor to redo their work. The 2 who came by to look at the job actually laughed at the poor quality of work. I can only imagine that a few of these (good) other reviews are coming from friends and relatives, if not Wayne himself. He's a sketchy character and I wouldn't put it past him. We will not allow him to enter our house again. This guys a joke

Busy spot with a live band
I went here at dinner time on a Friday. It took a while to get noticed by a waitress, but the service was reasonable given how busy it was.
I liked the live band that was there; not sure who they were. Music was Great Big Sea-style.
A couple of the people I was with wanted the 25 cent wings, but that special didn't start until 7:30 (I think). They were also out of sweet potato fries which made me sad. :(
I had the roasted vegetable sandwich, I didn't like the sauce too much (too much vinegar?) but other than that, it was good. Bread was very soft!

I read the review before this one. I must say I dont agree. We got a BBQ Chicken Pizza on thin crust. The sauce was unique and wonderful. Better than Minski's. Maybe the last couple should try thin crust? My husband orders all meat and claims it to be great and to be expensive ingredience. We will and have come back several times. Next Time I'll Do It Myself!
Next Time, DIY and Save the Money!
Having a few problems with my 3 year old desktop, I called KS from Nerds in a Flash, on the recommendation of a friend. KS poked around and announced I needed a hard drive reformat. I've done them before myself, and they are a pain, especially reinstalling all the application software. So I asked, will you reinstall all the software? Oh sure, he said. I had him check my backup on an external hard drive, to make sure everything was backup up that we would need to restore the system after reformat. He assured me again. When he returned three days later, he couldn't reinstall Thunderbird with my old email files. He told me I shouldn't use Thunderbird, that it did nothing but cause problems. I now understand this to mean, "I don't know how to work with Thunderbird." He told me he had neglected to have me backup a file essential for reinstalling Thunderbird, and asked if he could take back the tower, do an undelete and salvage the file. I agreed, and three days later he returned again. After over an hour of messing with it, he still couldn't get my old email files to access from Thunderbird, so he set them up as text files that I could access separately. When he was set to leave, I tested a few things, like outgoing email, and found that did not work. It took another hour and a call to my email server company for him to get it to work. Despite the promises of installed software, he didn't even install the applications from disks provided. I've spent a significant amount of time over three weeks fixing problems, reinstalling applications and updating software. Next time, I'll simply do it myself and at least then I won't have to pay for the privilege.
