Smith Electric Vehicles Corp. has elevated its chief technology officer, Robin Mackie, to the position of president, the company announced late Thursday. A Smith spokesman said the position was created for Mackie, who has been Smith’s CTO since 2009. The promotion comes as Kansas City-based Smith pursues an initial public offering.
